Happy Friday, JK’rs!
Brisk but sunny with a chance of a political ad or two on the tele this weekend – hoping you all have some fun on tap for a couple days!
There are a couple items on the list to share, some bland and some spicy – I will let you decide which is which…

Freight Elevator Usage: Oops, I Made A Mistake – Sorry!
So, last week while running through James and Kilmer with clipboard in hand jotting down notes of hallways in need of a little TLC, light bulbs that may need to be replaced, units playing great music and ones playing Gregorian Chants, I was accosted by a resident – well maybe accosted is too strong of a word – but her name starts with M =)
“M” asked me for a favor, and that was to use the regular passenger elevator because there happened to be a move going on and James was down to one freight elevator for dogs to use – we all know that when the puppies need to go out, the puppies NEED to go out!
I thought about that for the remainder of the day and by the time I went over all aspects of this innocuous request, I saw “M” walking the puppy… I rushed outside and shared my “Eureka Moment“! I shared my agreement with her and that I never put the two and two together to think, “why don’t I just take the passenger elevator? I don’t have a dog, there are three of those cars and only two freights for 43 floors of pet owners that are restricted to a certain area…” Makes perfect sense and I certainly did not want to test the resolve of my canine friends by making them wait longer, especially when there is a better way. Turns out, the passenger elevators seem to always arrive at my floor a bit faster anyway – a true win/win!
I thought this experience should be shared with everyone… now I truly want this message to be taken as intended, as innocuous – not to be harmful or offensive, and just a friendly way we can all live in a community and help out one another, in a different way.

Thanks in advance for not throwing rotten tomatoes or commencing with BOO’s!

2020 Election Time is Here…
With this year’s November election occurring Tuesday the 3rd, please be aware that James House is a Polling Place and you will see additional foot traffic in and around our Association.
With all things considered, we are adding additional door staff to aid in keeping our Association safe and secure and at various times throughout the day. Management representation will also be extended to cover the polling hours and available throughout the evening hours, should a need arise.

End of the Season Construction
We have one last [outdoor] construction project on the books for 2020, and there is going to be a little noise…
The rear of James House has a refuse staging area (aka garbage can shed) that is in desperate need of concrete replacement. The 20′ x 30′ slab of concrete will be removed and replaced next week and here are some of the things you should prepare for as we complete the project:
Tuesday – Jackhammer noise from 8am to 4:30pm (sorry, it is the only way to remove the concrete).
Wednesday – some removal of debris and then forming for new concrete to be poured.
Thursday/Friday – new concrete to be poured and finished according to plan. While we anticipate 100% completion Thursday, there may be a need to have the crew out on Friday for all final touches.
During this time, we have had to block off deliveries and moves, so please do not plan any last minute needs for the freight at James House, as we cannot have anything other than Trash Removal/UPS/FedEx/Amazon/USPS in the loading dock during the project.
Thanks in advance for your patience during this time.

FALL BACK…
Daylight Savings ends this Sunday, November 1st, so don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed this Saturday!
I just know I am going to be an hour early for work on Monday… I just know it!
